Oracle added local regions in Saudi Arabia (Jeddah), Australia (Melbourne), Japan (Osaka), Canada (Montreal), and The Netherlands (Amsterdam). As of today, all of them are open for business and available in the Oracle Cloud Console. We’ve already opened 10 cloud regions in the last six months, and with these five new regions, we now have Oracle’s Generation 2 Cloud available in 21 fully independent locations. We’re well on our way to having 36 cloud regions available by the end of 2020.

Fall 2019 Update to Oracle Enterprise Manager App on Oracle Cloud Marketplace
Get started using OEM 13c on OCI using the Oracle Enterprise Manager app in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace. The Cloud Marketplace image of EM13c now is based on the 13.3PG Bundle Patch release and installs on an Oracle Database 19.3c.
- The Enterprise Manager version deployed by the app is the 13.3PG Release with the latest Aug 2019 Bundle Patch for the OMS & Agent Platform.
- The Database version deployed by the app for the OMR is Oracle Database 19.3c.
- The Linux host leverages the latest OCI Linux image: OEL 7.7 – which includes a variety of security fixes.
- The included WebLogic for Oracle Enterprise Manager has been updated with the latest security patches.
- We’ve updated the Java Development Kit (JDK) to the latest JDK certified for Oracle Enterprise Manager (JDK build 1.7.0_231).
- We’ve included the latest Oracle Enterprise Manager Diagnostic Kit, which is EMDIAG Version 19.08.01.

Oracle Generation 2 cloud service to debut in Australia
Oracle will flip the switch for its Generation 2 cloud service in Sydney by the end of August 2019 in a bid to carve out a bigger slice of Australia’s growing cloud computing market.
The Sydney cloud region, which will be followed by a Melbourne region early next year, joins a slew of Generation 2 regions such as Mumbai, Zurich and Sao Paulo slated to open in August. By the end of 2019, the service will be available in 19 regions globally.
