    Hello Rob,

I’ve got the problem of em agent on AIX 5.3 TL8 that ramping up the kernel memory (%system from nmon) around 2% a day. If I stop the agent, only 0.2% of system memory increases. Do you face any problem like this before?

    Best regards,

    Hi Rob,

I am interested to know if you have created tablespace alerts which look at both percent free and space free.

Eg. Alert if tablesapce is > 85% full and there is = threshold, then check fee space (mb), if both fail send alert.

    Hello Rob,
Good work on 11g Grid Control white papers. I was similar issue, when installing new 11g gc on HP-UX 11.31. I wanted to know did you get any fix for that issue. White paper (Upgrading OEM GC to 11.1, Date: 19-04-2010).
When looking at the “All Targets” page you will notice “/secFarm_GCDomain/GCDomain/EMGC_ADMINSERVER/FMW_Welcom_Page_Application( Target bwing down. Still need to sort out this one.

I have same issue after 11g OEM installation. Let us know any fix for this issue, it will help lot.

Mohan, the fix/ARU that Rob mentions above ARU 13064018 is a generic platform fix so you can also apply this fix on 11g OEM on HP-UX.

    hope this helps

Hi Mohan, it would not be appropriate for me to run an Oracle Support activity on this forum. You should raise an SR with Oracle Support at support.oracle.com using your company CSI and MOS credentials.

I suspect that you are hitting the issue described in MOS Note 1139533.1 but to be safe you should continue this discussion with Oracle Support to ensure due diligence is performed on your environment.

        Hope this helps.

    Hi Rob,

I’ve search Google and Oracle Support and can’t find the answer to what am trying to achieve. Seeing that you are an Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) guru, perhaps you can spare some of your time to response if what am wanting to do is possible in OEM.

I’ve created several groups named DEV, TEST, PROD and at the moment, am accessing them via Targets -> Groups -> DEV. I want to be able to include these groups as one of the Target items instead so that when I click on the Targets tab, it is showing them as one of the Targets to click on.

So for example, at the moment, the Targets items are showing as below

    Hosts | Databases | Middleware | Web Applications | …. | All Targets

I want the target to instead show

    Hosts | Databases | Middleware | Web Applications | …. | DEV | TEST | PROD | All Targets

    or maybe

    Hosts | Databases | Middleware | Web Applications | …. | All Targets | DEV | TEST | PROD

Can you advise if this is possible? FYI, am using OEM Grid Control

Any response will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    • Rob Zoeteweij says:

      Hello Ed,

it is pretty simple to implement this.

Just navigate Preferences –> Target Subtabs and include those groups you want. As easy as 1,2, 3

    Hi Rob,

I’m using GC 10g R5 ( on AIX 5.3. Have you ever seen the error message “The details of the chosen corrective action are not available.” when you try to drill down into the results of a corrective action that was assigned to a Web Application and that fired when the web app went down one day?

The link to drill down is found when you click on the icon that looks like eye spectacles/glasses in the History/Availability table.

I’m thinking of logging it as an SR.

  10. Daniel says:

    Hi Rob,

How do you automate Cloud Control 12c agent start after host restarts? Unlike EM 10g there are not /etc/init.d/grstartup scripts.

Anyone automating RAC installs using Chef? You aware of others working in this area?

Thanks for blog; RABO 2009 paper brought me here.
